Preschool - Saint Leo The Great Catholic Church/School

Preschool

Saint Leo the Great School offers an early introduction to faith, socialization, fun and age-appropriate education through our Pre-Kindergarten program. The Pre-K program is designed to prepare your child for Kindergarten in a loving and caring Catholic environment. Pre-K families will be able to choose from either 5 half days per week or 5 full days per week for 4 year olds. The half day program will be from 8:25 am (with drop off beginning at 8 am) to 11:20 am and the full day program will be from 8:25 am (with drop off beginning at 8am) to 3:00 pm to coincide with our K through 8th grade school day. The program will follow a developmentally appropriate curriculum designed by the Diocese of Harrisburg that fosters the child’s growth in all areas: spiritual, intellectual, social, emotional and physical. Students entering our Pre-K program must be 4 years old as of September 1st of the 2023-2024 academic year. Any child seeking admission to Pre-K must also be completely toilet trained and busing is not provided for Pre-K.

I was born and raised in Colombia, South America.  I went to law school, and graduated as a lawyer with a specialization in Criminal Law.  I returned to college and received a degree in Bilingual Education. I also received my Master’s Degree in Education with a specialization in Reading.  I have over fifteen years of experience as a teacher. In my spare time I enjoy reading and traveling with my family. I have one daughter.

Our curriculum is child-centered and can be found at the Diocese of Harrisburg website: hbgdiocese.org/catholic-schools/diocesan-elementary-curriculum/#pre-school-curriculum

The children are exposed to whole and small group interactions, pre-reading, writing, and numerical activities.
